Ashen

Ashen is a black and white portrait series exploring the emotional weight of the human face through light, shadow and tonal depth. Inspired by vintage photography and the work of Nadav Kander, the series strips away colour and distraction, allowing expression, texture and the eyes to become the primary language of each portrait. Through restraint, contrast and careful control of light, Ashen seeks to create timeless, intimate images that invite quiet reflection and a lasting emotional connection.
